whoop whoop!

just ordered my first photo book from Blurb.com through Adobe Lightroom 4. It was pretty much a breeze to make. I like to have total control over my layouts and page design, and, even though there are tons of layouts to choose from, not being able to modify them much became a small point of frustration.... Over all, I think the process could use some tweaks, but for now I think I will be very happy with my finished product. If you want to check it out, click the pic!

aloha!

It's been a week since we got back, and I am still a little bit messed up with the time diference. Looking at these photos makes it feel like the trip was just yesterday and a million years ago, all at the same time! We had a blast and I am so thankful I got to go! Hope you love the pics as much as I do!

facing my fears

I am TERRIFIED of spiders... All thanks to a nursery worker at church when I was about 2 yrs old. I have a vivid memory of asking for help with my pony-tail-holder when a black spider crawled up the  curve of the rocker she was sitting in. She screamed and jumped up so fast that it scared me to death. Ever since, I have smashed every spider I have ever seen... until this week. My magnolia trees are spider hotels! I think it has something to do with the fact that the blooms are full of little places to hide and lots of insects frequent the area. So far, I have only seen these two, and they both made me jump, but with the camera between us, I feel a bit safer. Hopefully, by making my self photograph them, I will be able to over come my fear.... a little bit!

spring has sprung

Here in coastal South Carolina, we have a little joke.... there are only 2 seasons.. winter and "hotter than heck"! So, during the week or 2 that we call spring, everything that is going to bloom explodes with color! The bees are in high production mode and everything is trying to get all of it's pretty out before the sun gets so hot that it's all burnt up. I was really thinking I might miss some of my plants blooming since I have been so busy lately, but boy did I get lucky! I've had a few days free this week and have been headed out into the yard a lot to photograph all the little pretties! Hope you find them as lovely as I do!
